I think I'd rather take my MBP back before spending hours to re-install OS X, then Parallels and any other applications blown away by the re-install. ![]() But that I could try re-installing 10.5.6 to see if that fixes the issue. I'm being told that in 10.5.7, which is what I'm running, that some display resolutions were removed. I will try giving Hyundai tech support a call, but I've been around computers long enough to know that they are just going to blame the MacBook just as the first Apple representative tried to blame the display. This is very frustrating, especially to a new MacBook owner. I've never had to call tech support before on a display issue on my PCs. I'm on the phone with Apple Support and they are gathering log information for backline engineers. This works just fine with my $1000 PC laptop, but is not working with my new $2700 MBP. Hyundai is providing separate drivers for the monitor for Windows only - which leads me to believe that it is not transmitting the proper EDID info. The manual does provide very good detail of resolution and frequency settings. If you are using either of the first 2, I'd give Hyundai IT support a call or try SwitchResX. It will not accept that resolution via HDMI. Would think if you're going from mini-display port to DVI it should be working.Įdit: Found the owner's manual - this set should support 1920x1200 via both VGA and DVI. Most decent manufacturers will provide a detail page of the resolutions accepted through the VGA port. If you're going in via VGA, you'll need to check the manual. Likely if you are going in through HDMI, the highest available is going to be 1920x1080 and maybe not even that as some manufacturers EDID info from HDMI does not report the proper info to computers. However, there is a workaround at on the SwitchResX website - This is a one-off action and is only required to save the custom resolutions and SIP can be restarted once actioned.Need more info - specifically what connection are you using? What resolution options is it providing? Thanks to member Adam Saunders for pointing out that, beginning with El Capitan, System Integrity Protection or SIP does not allow SwitchResX to modify the files it needs to provide this. Update: The tutorial suggests using SwitchResX to assist in setting up custom HiDPi screen resolutions. ![]() This first part looking at the basics of ScreenFlow, followed in a couple of weeks with a second and third episode highlighting and explaining some of the more advanced features. Screencasts are a fantastic way for you to capture and spread knowledge, whether it's for friends, family, colleagues or even documenting processes or procedures for yourself.īoth iOS and macOS Mojave already have built-in capabilities for capturing screencasts, but these are fairly rudimentary. ScreenFlow 8 is an amazing all-in-one solution for the capturing, editing and exporting of screencasts. ![]()
